The Earth Day Shorty Campaign
Central Westcoast Forest Society
Smash + Tess has always been committed to slow-fashion and taking care of our backyard (be it people, jobs or the environment), and supporting women making positive change for our planet is something we want to prioritize as a brand.
Together with CWFS we donated a total of $8,000. In addition to the funds raised through the campaign, S+T is also making a direct donation in the form of sponsorship of the Triple Plank of $1,400.
IG LIVE FUNDRAISER
HER MIND, HER HEALTH INITIATIVE

GIVING TUESDAY
BC WOMEN'S HOSPITAL
Our Founder Ashley Freeborn's baby, Stella, was born premature and was in the NICU for 1 extremely long month. Ashley received a beautiful gift from a mom who was just out of the NICU. Ashley was extremely touched by this gesture, and wanted to pay this gift forward by creating a beautifully curated box with all of her favourite things that helped her get through a difficult time. ⠀
In November 2020, with the help of BC Women's Health Foundation, we delivered over 40 boxes to NICU mamas at BC Women's Hospital here in Vancouver!

PROVIDING SCRUB CAPS TO HOSPITAL WORKERS
From March to May 2020, we launched a company-wide effort, bringing together product design, operations, and our suppliers to design and produce, non-surgical scrub caps for frontline healthcare workers fighting COVID-19.
Inspired by Jessica Lu, a member of our #smashtessfam and Respiratory Therapist based in BC, we wanted to give back to the hospital staff that is especially vulnerable amid this pandemic. For every $5 that our customers donated, we matched it and used this money to create and donate scrub caps to our community.

CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF SESAME STREET
YELLOW FEATHER FUND
In November 2019, Smash + Tess was honoured to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Sesame Street with a special limited-edition collection of Rompers for the whole family!
As a team of three moms, we not only care deeply about our children, but the welfare and education of children worldwide so we donated 5% of proceeds from sales on launch day to the Yellow Feather Fund.
For us, partnering with Sesame Street was a dream come true! Growing up watching Sesame Street and now sharing it with our own children, reinforces the timelessness of the show, meaningful characters, and significant themes, all developed to create a more thoughtful, compassionate, and more inclusive community.
